Voce et Organo’s first and foremost objective was to accomplish the building of a positive organ of eight feet, designed in the North European early 17th century style. This organ, with its richly molded sideboard and its assertive temperament was inaugurated by the Professor Harald Vogel, in June 1997 at the church « Notre-Dame de la Chapelle » in Brussels.

Arnaud Van de Cauter, the instrument creator, has realized an old-established dream : to have an organ built with character, a personality of its own ; an instrument typed following an aesthetic and a well-defined repertoire, which moreover presents the particular feature to be movable in order to bring music where organs are absent, left abandoned or faded out. Spurred on by the dream to share his passion with the widest possible public, he has surrounded himself with a handful of people devoted to organs and to organ music : in May 1993, the non-profit organization Voce et Organo was born.

Voce et Organo has for object to value, promote and develop music, including organ and pipe organ music, as well as its study and conservation.

The heart of the association activities concentrates on the production of high-class early music concerts with organ, in Brussels or elsewhere. The culminating point of the season is Voce et Organo early music festival occurring yearly, at the end of summer. This festival enables to listen to vocal and instrumental ensembles, specialized in early music, in the company of renowned organists, all in architectural surroundings of incredible beauty.

• Promotion and enhancement of the organ built in the early seventeenth century style
• Organisation of concerts, in Belgium and/or abroad
• Editing, publication, distribution and diffusion by all media and/or technical resources
• Organisation of conferences, training, seminars, study tours…
• Conception restoration projects and/or construction of pipe organs in Belgium and/or abroad
